Ngoma

Tuned world percussion.

60% is the pattern as the tradition plays it. Lower thins it out, higher fills it in.
Only on tracks with Sw on. Swinging selectively keeps the pulse tight.
Small timing and velocity differences on every hit.
The higher, the more tracks get an odd length and the further they drift from the bar. Low drums and clave stay anchored longest.
More body, a deeper pitch drop and saturation inside the drum itself.
Reverb
Delay

Send per track with Rev and Dly. Both effects cut their own low end (reverb below 250 Hz, delay below 300 Hz), so kick and bass stay clean. The delay is synced to the BPM, with tape-style filtering and a touch of wow in the feedback.

Click: place a hit, click again to change the stroke Shift-click or right-click: accent or soft open / bass / low mute / tone / high slap / ka Dashed outline: variation hit LED: lights up on every hit, click to mute. Muted tracks show their hits as a ring.
With effects on you also get a dry WAV, in case you prefer to add space in your own chain.

Registers

Low gives weight, mid speaks the language of the rhythm, high gives drive. Don't let all three play busy at once.

Polymeter

Give one track a different length (3, 5, 7, 12 or 20 steps) and it slides across the bar. That creates a trance without adding a single note.

Push

Put the shaker a few milliseconds behind the beat and the clave just ahead of it. That is groove quantize can't give you.
